    <title>Environmentally friendly automobile racing - A paradox?</title>
    <description>Some of the most environmetally unfriendly vehicles in the world are those employed in auto racing. From F1 to Nascar, to WRC, auomobile racecars are technologically advanced, thirsty and will never pass your county emissions test.  However, many of the advances in automobile technology that have made your daily commute safer and quicker are a result of advancements developed under racing conditions and subsequently adapted to your Toyota Camry.  It is therefore likely that the use of a hybrid and other eco-friendly vehicles in automobile racing will advance these technologies faster that they would otherwise evolve and arguably result in earlier widespread adoption.  So is environmentally friendly racing truly a paradox?</description>
